Inspired by his experience growing up in Syria, Kasem was involved with his university’s Amnesty International chapter for three years, most recently as the chapter president. He also served as VP Finance of an international affairs committee all whilst working a part-time job. Through Québec sans frontières, Kasem spent a summer working on an ecotourism project in Togo. Kasem completed his bachelor’s degree in international studies at Université de Montréal. He pursued a Master of Arts in Political Science at McGill as a McCall MacBain Scholar.
