Cameron Adams, a graduate in Indigenous Languages and History from the University of Winnipeg and a 2023 McCall MacBain Scholar, started learning nehinawewin (Swampy Cree), seven years ago, after learning that his great-grandmother had grown up speaking the language in the small community of Norway House, Manitoba.

The McCall MacBain Scholarship is a full graduate scholarship that provides students with the mentorship, interdisciplinary learning, and global community they need to accelerate their impact on the world.
McCall MacBain Scholarships at McGill is situated on land which has long served as a site of meeting and exchange amongst Indigenous peoples, including the Haudenosaunee and Anishinabeg nations.
