A Maple Ridge student has been selected as one of the finalists for a major scholarship across Canada.
Janelle Brown-Walkus, a former Thomas Haney Secondary School student is one of this year’s 50 finalists across Canada for the McCall MacBain Scholarship, a full graduate scholarship for aspiring community leaders to attend McGill University.

The McCall MacBain Scholarship is a full graduate scholarship that provides students with the mentorship, interdisciplinary learning, and global community they need to accelerate their impact on the world.
McCall MacBain Scholarships at McGill is situated on land which has long served as a site of meeting and exchange amongst Indigenous peoples, including the Haudenosaunee and Anishinabeg nations.
