Khin teaches at a public school in Tokyo and recently earned a bachelor’s degree in Global Innovation Studies from Toyo University.

As the president of her department’s student association, Khin organized a two-day Sustainable Development Goals Future Camp. During her studies in Japan, she worked part-time facilitating global empowerment programs for high school students. Previously, she volunteered for five years as a teacher in Myanmar, and, in 2018, initiated an informal program teaching life skills to students affected by civil war and poverty. Khin’s undergraduate research focused on the role of Migrant Learning Centres in supporting Myanmar migrant youth access to quality education.

Khin is applying for the master’s in Educational Leadership at McGill. Her goal is to improve educational access for conflict-affected communities.
