Sage has mixed Métis, French Canadian, and Jewish ancestry. As a political science student at Concordia University, he led the Garnet Key Society and helped shift its focus to student projects and fundraising for social causes. The student society doubled its membership applications. Sage also worked to integrate equity, diversity, and inclusion into the society’s policies and activities.

Sage volunteered in a local political association in his district and served as deputy leader for the Parlement jeunesse du Québec, a youth parliament simulation. He studied youth political participation at the Centre d’études sur les valeurs, attitudes et sociétés (CÉVAS) of Concordia.

As a McCall MacBain Scholar, he completed law school at McGill. He is on track to join the Barreau du Québec and work as a lawyer representing First Nations.
