Giane studies Information Systems at the Universidade de São Paulo (USP) and works at a digital commerce platform company. She is also a Visiting Scholar at the Blue Marble Space Institute of Science, where she is developing an adaptive learning system designed for areas with limited bandwidth, electricity, and income. Giane founded EXATECCA, a science fair connecting students and the community, and served as president of Sìntese Jr, earning the Junior Enterprise Innovation Award. Additionally, Giane developed DROPIM, a low-cost eye-tracking device that detects eye blink movements in people with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). She served as a student representative on the Information Systems Undergraduate Committee, organized events encouraging girls to pursue careers in STEM, and helped revive a coding program for underprivileged high school students as Academic VP of GrifoCode. Giane intends to pursue a Master of Science in Computer Science degree at McGill. Her long-term goal is to develop assistive technology that enhances the quality of life for people with disabilities.
