Luka grew up in Drummondville and is studying anthropology at Université Laval as a Loran Scholar.

Passionate about dialogue and conversation, he is president of the debate club and vice-president of a student association offering accessible art-therapy activities. In addition to mentoring new international students, Luka volunteers weekly to distribute food for people facing food insecurity and isolation. Last summer, he spearheaded a research project on the hypervigilance of racialized bodies in public transit spaces.

As a McCall MacBain Scholar, Luka will start a Master of Arts in Anthropology at McGill.
