Meryl is a graduate of Yale-NUS College, where she was an active member of the First-Generation Students' Collective. In 2023, she was named the Global Winner in Psychology by the Global Undergraduate Awards for her original research on an empathy-building intervention. Alongside her research focus, Meryl pioneered a mental health zine to advocate for help-seeking in her college. In addition, she worked as a teaching assistant for children with developmental disabilities and volunteered at a migrant worker shelter in her hometown. From 2023 to 2025, Meryl was the Research Lead for Singapore's largest nationally funded cohort studies, where she authored scientific publications and mentored the next generation of student researchers. Meryl will enter the Master of Science, Psychology: Experimental (Thesis) program at McGill.
