Michael will soon graduate from Queen’s University with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Chemical Engineering. He earned a Chernoff Family Scholarship for his studies and is working two part-time jobs while finishing his degree.

Growing up on a farm in central Ontario inspired Michael’s interest in community-building and bioscience. Since 2022, he has been actively involved with Queen’s Engineering orientation week as well as the biomedical innovation team. Recently, he co-chaired a conference showcasing non-traditional career pathways and participated in a charity comedy show. Michael has also pursued research internships in Toronto and Braunschweig, Germany, with support from Amgen Scholars and DAAD.

Michael will pursue a Master of Science in Biological and Biomedical Engineering at McGill, working in the Lung Bioengineering and Regeneration lab. He is keen to help create cures for chronic conditions.
