Myra is a Biomedical Engineering student at the University of British Columbia’s Vancouver campus.

Myra spent four years with Engineers Without Borders UBC, eventually becoming co-president. In this role, she supported 90 members across four ventures, helping advance creative engineering solutions while organizing professional development panels and wellness initiatives. Her leadership resulted in an invitation to organize BC xChange, a regional climate conference, in collaboration with Engineers Without Borders Canada. Myra also serves as co-captain and science team lead for UBC Rover, where she led 65 members in designing exploratory robots for international competitions and helped increase women’s participation in the team. She also completed a research internship at the University of Freiburg in Germany as a recipient of the DAAD RISE scholarship.

Myra will enter the Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (Thesis) program at McGill. Her long-term goal is to develop point-of-care diagnostic tools for low-resource settings.
