Naima is a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology student at the University of Calgary.
Naima leads a team of peer support and outreach volunteers at the University of Calgary Women’s Resource Centre. She also oversees communications for the Anti-Racism Movement club, raising awareness of racial bias.
Previously, Naima contributed to media and outreach for the Biomedical Engineering Research and Innovation Team, interned at Pro Bono Law Alberta, and worked as a research assistant investigating long-term care work in Alberta. She has worked at a bakery for four years and has been volunteering with the Centre for Newcomers since 2020.
As a McCall MacBain Scholar, Naima will pursue a Master of Science in Epidemiology at McGill.
