Nonso Morah

Nonso is a Conflict Studies and Human Rights major at the University of Ottawa. She works as a political staffer in the Senate of Canada. A published poet, Nonso has written and performed across Central Canada and Alberta, leading writing workshops for newcomers. She also volunteers with the Igbo Association of Edmonton as a photographer for cultural events and supports the Student Refugee Program as an Academic Mentor and Volunteer with World University Services of Canada. Previously, she played competitive basketball and coached young women in this sport. In addition, Nonso has worked as the mentorship coordinator of the 1834 Fellowship, a program helping to create a new generation of Black civic leaders. Nonso plans to pursue a Master of Arts in Education and Society (Thesis) degree at McGill, focusing on civic engagement and global education policy.
