Olha Shnyt graduated from Ukrainian Catholic University in 2025 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. For her thesis, she led the first Ukrainian cross-sectional study on compassion fatigue among civilians.
Olha co-founded Pidsvidomi, a psychology student organization that reached hundreds of students through events and podcasts. She also managed human resources for an initiative producing affordable power banks for soldiers, facilitated activities at a university centre supporting people with intellectual disabilities, and offered psychological support to adolescents and young adults. With a background in theatre, Olha helped direct an inclusive play featuring actors with and without disabilities. Last summer, she completed a Mitacs Globalink research internship at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Canada, studying written exposure therapy for youth with post-traumatic stress disorder.
Olha will begin a Master of Science in Mental Health at McGill.
