Plem recently graduated from McGill University with a Bachelor of Arts, Joint Honours in International Development and Political Science. He came to McGill as a WUSC student from the Democratic Republic of Congo via Uganda.

Plem co-founded and coordinates a scholarship program for refugee girls in Uganda, working in partnership with two international organizations, and co-founded a refugee-led research project advising agricultural businesses. He also serves on the board of the Fondation du Cégep de Lanaudière and CREDIL, an international cooperation organization in Lanaudière. He has worked throughout his studies, most recently as an events coordinator for Action Réfugiés Montréal, and spent a summer researching economic opportunities for refugees and youth in Jordan.

Plem will enter the BCL/JD program at McGill.
