An Honours Political Science graduate of the American University in Cairo (AUC), Samaa currently works as a senior policy analyst at a think tank.

Samaa has been volunteering with the Egyptian Red Crescent since 2018. She has helped prepare and distribute aid bags to vulnerable families, run awareness campaigns, and provided psychosocial support. Samaa has also volunteered at the Children’s Cancer Hospital and at AUC’s Wellbeing Centre. During her studies, Samaa founded and led her university’s women’s chess team, started a children’s debate society, and served as section managing editor of the student newspaper.

Samaa will pursue a Master of Arts in Political Science at McGill University with the goal of advancing research in women and gender studies, particularly in the area of gender-based violence.
