Sophia recently completed a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and African American Studies at the University of Florida. She currently works as a paralegal for the Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia.

In 2022, Sophia founded Kiskeya Youth to provide an avenue for diasporic youth to collaborate with young people and communities in the Dominican Republic and Haiti. Through this initiative, she managed a team that conducted oral history interviews, led a youth program, and constructed several murals. Sophia also spearheaded youth programs for an interdisciplinary research lab, directed a campus-community engagement initiative, and organized service activities and events as vice-president of her local sorority chapter.

Sophia will pursue a Master of Arts in Sociology at McGill.
