Thiago recently finished his bachelor's degree in dentistry at the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG). As a volunteer dentist with Smile Angels, a social project, he provides pro bono treatment for women and children in vulnerable situations. He was awarded the Extension Project Scholarship for the Dental Assistance Program for Transplant Patients, where he holds a leadership role. In this role, Thiago implemented a feedback system and held weekly meetings to encourage team collaboration. Thiago has volunteered to provide dental care to hospitalized and bone marrow transplant patients through the Hospital Dentistry Extension Project. On campus, he served as the President of the Academic League for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, was the Vice President of his faculty's Athletic Association, tutored his classmates, and volunteered as a health promoter for various projects. Thiago has been admitted to the Master of Sciences in Dental Sciences (Thesis) program at McGill. His long-term goal is to become a professor and researcher in the field.
